A brand new image from Thor: Love and Thunder shows Thor and Jane Foster's Mighty Thor teaming up in similar costumes. Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has kicked off the run of Phase 4 MCU films in 2022, Thor: Love and Thunder is the next entry coming down the line, premiering in theaters on July 8, 2022. The film is the fourth solo movie starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and the first to have a returning director - Taika Waititi, who helmed 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, which has so far been the highest-grossing Thor movie, as well as being the fourth highest-rated Marvel movie on Rotten Tomatoes overall.

Love and Thunder will follow up on the events of Avengers: Endgame and feature Thor rehabilitating while stepping down from being a superhero. Essentially, he is going through a midlife crisis and trying to discover whether his true purpose is being a hero and leader. However, this coincides with the arrival of Gorr, the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who wants to live up to his name and eliminate every God in Asgard and beyond. Now, he will have to reteam with Thor: Ragnarok's Korg (Waititi) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), as well as Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) his former flame from Thor and Thor: The Dark World, who has now become The Mighty Thor.
